The AC unit in our wine cellar was leaking water. I called Wighton’s and the very friendly gal who answered the call explained how their processes work and what it would cost for a tech to come take a look at things. The tech came to our house the next day, quickly diagnosed the problem and placed an order for the needed replacement part. The tech was friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a great experience.

I called these guys for leak detection. I was informed there was a dispatch fee $99 that would be applied to any repairs. They said they were not able to give me an estimate over the phone. The company advertised that they are local for Solvang resident but they’re based in SLO. The tech arrived and after looking around for 15 minutes informed price for tHe first 2 hours would be $790.00. That price was double what American Leak Detection quoted over the phone at $384.00 for the first 2 hours. I chose not to use wighton’s plumbing because of their high price. Yet I am billed for $99 for the privilege of an in person price quote and nothing more. They said they needed tog cover gas and driving time. My advice is to get a price quote range ahead of time on the phone so that you don’t get stuck for $99. If the plumber won’t do that find someone else. I would not use Wighton’s plumbing because they are deceptive. I would never have agreed to have them come to my home had I understood their exorbitant price. Be aware!
