These guys go through the motions and talk a big game, but deliver little. Used them for a few years. Big mistake. More weeds than when they started, they miss trees in fertilization. Call them back, customer service is horrible!

This company continues to charge for a service that was canceled 2 months ago, which lacks professionalism and seriousness. I do NOT recommend the services of this company.

I have been using PowerX for many years, and they have been very reliable, always professional and thorough. They go the extra mile every time I ask them to do something and they always get the job done. They're staff is very professional and they always take great care when they are in your house. I had their inspector over, Jorge, to my house for a yearly termite inspection, and he was quite thorough. I am grateful for his time and his thoroughness. I know that I can rely on PowerX, and I trust they will do right by me when it comes to providing services and solutions. Sincerely, Brittany

Time of results will vary with the target insect but for the most part, results are rapid and long-lasting. Your ongoing service agreement will ensure that pests are not only controlled but prevented and kept out of your home.
The products Power X uses to eliminate pests have been extensively tested and are approved by the U.S. EPA, and are applied by highly-trained, certified professionals. We also can recommend non-chemical treatment options including baits, exclusion, and sanitation.
A wasp nest will usually only last one season, the queen will then leave to find somewhere to hibernate and the rest of the colony will die off.
Because termite infestations can be so elusive, termites can spend a year or more eating away at a structure before it begins to show any signs. If you have had termites for an extended period, you'll notice that doors and windows will become harder to open and close, walls will begin to bulge and floors will dip. If you're hoping to discover termite damage before this, it may be difficult. Most termite damage will happen inside the wood of your home. If you notice areas of wallpaper, wood banisters, or exterior fencing that appear as though they have been attacked by a hundred wood carving knives, you should have your home inspected by a professional.
Subterranean termites are attracted to moisture, especially moistened wood. If you have mulch, bushes, shrubs, or dead stumps near your home, you will invite termites close to your exterior walls.
Inexperienced applications of over-the-counter pest control products are usually ineffective and can also be unsafe for pets, children and adults if used improperly. Also, most pests return unless you take steps to prevent them. In as little as 30 days, new infestations can develop. The only effective way to eliminate and prevent new infestations is to use a reputable pest prevention company.
Once a colony is established, termites are a year-round problem.
Because of the specialized equipment and chemicals needed to effectively and safely treat your home, it’s nearly always best to hire a professional. Do-it-yourself termite control chemicals are commonly sold through feed, hardware, and nursery supply stores. For spot treatments, in a very limited area, these products may be as effective as some professional products; however it takes a professional to thoroughly treat a home.
All the volume of a beam/balk has cellulose, including the heart; for this reason, the whole balk can be devoured by termites. They begin to eat it from the inside out, leaving a hollow shell in the end.
For some species, termite colonies can last for an unlimited period of time; since when the royal couple disappears, they can be replaced by other members of the colony.
Yes, it is true, unless the building’s frame is made of termite treated wood, or naturally termite resistant wood.
The termite queen can live from 15-25 years. What’s more, she can lay an egg every 15 seconds. Worker and soldier termites, on the other hand, live just one to two years. Only the queen mates and lays eggs.
No, termites do not bite, and they can’t harm us or our pets. In fact, most people rarely encounter termites. Termite swarms are really the only time when you’re likely to see them. Even then, they’re just frantically trying to find a way outside.
There are 3 easy ways to tell flying ants and termites apart: Wing size Termite wings are all equal in length and extend well past the abdomen. Ants have wings which are unequal in length and generally end at the tip of the abdomen. Antennae shape Antennae on termites are straight and bead-like, but on ants they are elbowed. Waist size Ants have a pinched waist, but termites have no constriction in the body and are more streamlined.
Termite damage leaves the wood looking hollowed out and wavy in its appearance. Wood rot, depending on the type, will either leave the wood spongy and soft to the touch. Or, it will be dry and fragile, falling apart at a touch. Another difference is that rot may leave a distinct odor which is the decay of the wood that is not present when termites do damage. Unless of course that the termites have invaded rotted wood. Plus, you may see fungi present in rotted wood that is another indicator. If you are still not sure, then you should call us for a free inspection!
Our trained and certified technicians will conduct a detailed assessment of any pest control issue you're currently experiencing. With this - we will be able to treat it with the safest and most effective products.
- Adult termites swarming by the windows - Wings near windows - Small pellets (droppings)—these can vary in color depending on the wood they’re feeding on - Surface blisters on the wood - Hollow feeling or sounding wood when tapped
Termites cause an estimated $5 billion in property damages and repair costs annually. In fact, termites damage more homes than fires, floods, and tornadoes. More than 4 million homes in the United States are at risk of infestation.
