This is a beautiful place doing amazing work rescuing dolphins. They have regular presentations throughout the day that are highly informative and entertaining. Check out the programs because you really don't want to miss out on meeting the animals.

Absolutely amazing place! We booked the dolphin meeting and we were more than satisfied with it. The trainers were so sweet to customers and to the dolphins! So much fun !

Hi, Terri. Thank you for your interest and concern. All of the dolphins and other animals came through the storm great. We were very lucky to not incur much damage from the wind or storm surge. We have extensive preparation plans before a storm to keep the animals as safe as possible and also protect the facility. May we suggest you visit our Facebook page @dolphinresearchcenter and look at the Livestream videos from last Monday and Wednesday? On the Monday one we talked at length about preparations. It will also give you great visuals. Thanks again for visiting and for your concern. We'll tell Cayo you said hello!
Check and see availability on calendar, we do different stuff with our family. We just look at time slots to be at same time or close.
Yes. We have some wheelchairs here that can be used by guests.
If you want to do a program with the dolphins between Thanksgiving and New Year I would highly recommend booking in advance. As well as during the summer months.
Yes, indeed, it is. At that time, this was under the original owners the Santinis. Mitzi was particularly special to Milton Santini. She was the main star of the original Flipper movie and there were five dolphins who played the part of Flipper depending on their specialties. Two of them - Little Bit and Mr. Gipper - went on to produce Tursi. Tursi will be 48 on her next birthday and has, in turn, gifted us with Talon, Pax, Gypsi, and Gambit. The Flipper heritage continues!
We’re sorry but we’re unable to supply lockers. There are some cubbies if you are doing an interactive program. Most of the time swim participants bring their belongings to the boardwalk or area closest to the dock where they will do their program or lock valuables in their vehicles.
If you currently have a program reserved, you need to contact our Reservations staff at 305-289-0002, daily from 9 am to 4 pm to make changes.

A good 3 hours would be plenty of time to enjoy this event. This was my best part of vacation 🐬🐬
Hi, Sophia. That question is very broad-based and so is the answer. Unfortunately, we can't give you a complete count. Every place that cares for dolphins in facilities studies them, often in a variety of ways. For example, it's imperative that we study their health and care needs. Many scientists study their cognition; others study physiological aspects. There are other independent scientists who study dolphins both at facilities and out in the wild populations. I'm sorry that we can't be more specific.
That’s a great question without an exact answer. There are more than 30 species of dolphins world wide. The bottlenose dolphin, which is the species most well known, is not endangered. There numbers are robust around the world. There are other species, such as some river dolphins that are critically endangered. Hundreds of thousands might be a conservative estimate. It depends on whether you’re asking about bottlenose or all species.
Help in what way? If you have volunteered at DRC before, you can reach out to the Volunteer Resources Department and ask. Unfortunately, DRC cannot accept new volunteers for only a day or two. Thanks for asking.

Hi. Yes, we love friendly dogs on leashes or in pet strollers in all of our public access areas. Just note that if you want to do an interactive program, someone from your party will need to watch your dog. Hope to see you soon!
https://dolphins.org/plan_your_day Adults - $28.00 Military & Veterans - $25.00 Children ages 4-12 - $23.00 Children younger than 4 are admitted free.
The Dolphin Encounter is $199 per person and includes all-day admission. We offer a variety of other interactive programs, too!
It starts at 2:30.
It's hard to say a typical attendance because it varies between weekends and weekdays, the weather, etc. We could have a couple of hundred people visit - spread out over the day. If you want to do an interactive program, then we recommend you book in advance to ensure you get the program you want on the day that you want. For general admission, you could do any day or any time of day. Around noon is often when we have the most people at one time but even then people spread out around our grounds.
Absolutely! Pets are welcome but must be on leash and you must clean up after them.
Hi, Michelle. Admission is $28.00 for adults; $25.00 for military and veterans; $23 for children ages 4 to 12.
