Holiday Inn Express & Suites Edwardsville

The Edwardsville Holiday Inn Express never fails to be an excellent place to stay. We have been visiting this location for the past 5 years that my daughter attended SIUE. The site is clean, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is always courteous and friendly. There are walking paths nearby or within a short drive. Also nearby you can find places to shop, in case you forgot something at home. Another plus is its proximity to St. Louis. It's very easy to visit.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They would acknowledge you when you entered or exited the hotel. If I needed something, they were right there to accommodate me and always had a smile on their face! The hotel is centrally located to restaurants shops and stores and a lot of it is within walking distance.

There was garbages under the bed which indicated to me that the maid did not throughly cleaned the room.. Breakfast was just repeating the same menu.. The insulting part was when i arrived and they found out i was deaf. They put me on hold waiting for a room. Turned out to be a handicap room which i did not requested in the first place. The shower was wheelchair accessible which meant the whole bathroom floor was wet and slippery whenever i showered. It was not the room i signed up for.. The room looked nothing like the picture which is the only reason why i wanted to stay at holiday inn. Just soooo disappointed i paid for a room i didnt get.. And got a room based on my deafness. Will not ever go back there. I would rather stay at a hotel where i would be treated like a normal paying customer. Thus the reason for such poor rating, my deafness does not entitle you to put me in a room that i never requested for.

Positive: The staff were all amazing about friendly. Negative: My son had a severe reaction to all the chemicals in the pool. It wad way too chlorinated. It made my eyes burn, but he had such a bad reaction, I thought we might have to go to the e.r.
