Anyone who claims less than 5 Stars didn't want to get sober or just wanted to try to get meds to get high because Dr. Joseph is the best dr in NC & has saved many peoples lives! He saved my life & other ppl I met in the program. If you want to help yourself, are honest & Ready to get sober This is the right place for you to go! No he won't jus give you meds. He will guide you to sobriety. But you have to do the work he tells you to stay sober. You can't expect him to do it for you. You have to want to help yourself. He can only guide you. I have watched this man take ppl in who couldn't pay for their visit on apt day. NO doctors do that anymore. All other doctors Refuse to see ppl without payment. Dr Joseph' is amazing! He is Understanding, compassionate & honest. But if you aren't ready to get clean then don't waste his time cos someone else is ready & can use that help. Don't waste his time. He won't waste yours. If you are late he will fit you in his schedule but don't blame him if you have to wait because of your being late. I've never had to wait out of 3 yrs cos I'm on time. He fixes any problem the pharmacy may have. He calls right back within mins to help. This is the 1st dr I've seen do so much for his patients. Again, if you're ready to get help & b honest. Call him.

Maybe better with opioid issues than mental illnesses. Wrong meds, wrong diagnoses...

I don't think so. He only works with Suboxone and Subutex patients, not methadone and he isn't doing psychiatry anymore if I'm not mistaken

Hi, a friend of mine recommended I speak to a psychiatrist about adhd. I’ve always struggled with what I call adhd but have been reluctant to rely on a medication. After starting a new job, I realize I need help. Do you help with ADHD? Thanks

Because I am prescribing your benzodiazepine, I would have to refer you to somebody else to prescribe your ADHD medication. I would recommend that you get some testing done first by Deanna Johnson in sunset Beach North Carolina. Her phone number is 910-575-4200. You can then ask one of two nurse practitioners that I know of that can prescribe you your medication for ADHD if you are positive for having ADHD.

Dr. Joseph, I was wondering if you accepted patients who are currently prescribed Xanax for anxiety disorder but only takes them on an as needed basis b/c I really want help to get off opioids but it’s hard to find a dr to accept me b/c of it...

The combination of Benzodiazepines and Opiates are not recommended because of the risk of death from respiratory depression. There are other causes of anxiety that need to be investigated. Undiagnosed medical/psychiatric conditions may be coexisting with the opiate addiction. A good diagnostic evaluation along with medical and psychological testing can help get to the core of the problem.

Do you except Medicare?? It’s different from Medicaid

I treat people for opiate dependence using Suboxone or Buprenorphine (Subutex). It is on a cash basis. I give statements that can be submitted to most insurance companies for out of network reimbursement.
