Busy morning 45 minute wait
Lee Curran
In the last 4 years, there have been huge improvements in handling the lines (at least for those who embraced the digital age). The staff is still great (never had an issue as they are always friendly and courteous). The ability to get in line before you even leave home is a huge perk. The system isn't perfect but will save you time. My experience thus far has been that the estimate is often off by about 10 minutes. Compared to waiting 1-2 hours that once existed 10-minute waits are pretty awesome. Thank you to the DMV for the huge improvement in speeding up the wait.

Polite and courteous staff. It wasn't very busy the day I went so everything went well.

Crowded but efficient.

Always bring your driver's license and cash if you don't want an additional fee (can call and ask how much the registration is before going). If you bought from a dealership, you just have to make sure the title is at the MCMV office. They will mail you a postcard when they have it as a notification. If you are in a hurry, check back maybe 2 weeks before the temporary registration expires as the postcard can take a week after they have the title to generate and get to you. Otherwise, you just need a title that is signed by the seller and notarized. Then just make sure to check in to the line before you go. The system will give you a prompt if you need more time (running late).
No, and appointments are usually 30+ days out.
If already registered in Montana you only need a driver's license. You can also order a replacement title while you renew the tags.
You just need to go in and bring your driver's license. I would imagine they might charge a small fee but otherwise just make sure to check in to the line before you head over to save a lot of time.
8 AM to 4:30 PM (make sure to google them and check in to their line (either by text or web page) as that will save you a ton of time).
Yes
Spokane has print service. Or the Governments Treasuery
I believe it's the department of the treasury motor vehicle licensing division
Have u temp tagged it if not go on dmv and get one if so drop the title off in the drop at the dmv drop box down town with the front and bottom back side filled out then wait 5weeks for an orange card to come in the mail then u use the card to go online and get plate and do title by email
You have to do everything online and threw mail on their site. I believe you can fax some things to speed up the process. Hope this helps!
Probably not; Missoula County & Montana DMV are terrible. NOT Service oriented. I moved from Granite County where they are very service oriented.
Probably 2-4 weeks. Fill out form, send in fee, gets processed in Helena, and then... you wait....
Probably appointment or walk in, but you should call and ask if they can simply mail a replacement sticker.
You don't need an appointment. They have a great system where you sign in electronically when you arrive. You can wait or (this is an awesome feature) choose to receive a text when there are 7 people in front of you. We did this, went to lunch and got the text as we were paying our bill. Got back and waited about 15 minutes before they called us. Best service ever at a DMV office.
To register, visit your County Treasurer's Office and: Complete a vehicle registration application. Show proof of insurance. Present the vehicle's title. Submit the registration certificate from your former state. Pay all fees: Vehicle registration fees, which vary based on age of vehicle and length of registration.
You will register in whatever county you live in. So if you live in missoula county then yes you register it here.
Online or call there usually pretty good about picking up
They renew these because of wear and weathering. Cops need to be able to read liscense plates so the state replaces your plates periodically.
You dont need an appointment, you can go wait there anytime. Well, not anytime actually. If you dont arrive within the first hour it is unlikely they will reach your ticket before closing. I go right after they open, grab a ticket, and head back to my office for several hours. Then at about noon I go back, wait a reasonable half hour and get the registration.
Take the death certificate to the dmv and title..
An appointment would be quicker, it can be done without it. Cost is not bad at around $20.00
Or you can use a passport
