why do they offer a phone number , i guess they are afraid to pick it up because something might happen ? such as talking to the person calling in , a little info if you answer the device you might help someone and maybe you will feel good about yourself because you helped someone . No. All applications get processed up in the Northeast USA, then delivered. You do get a letter with Government stationery, but it won't count as an official document...just proof that you will be getting your card. Source: Just got my replacement and used this office.
Call social security office w/ your banks routing and your account number. It will take 14 days to change over so don't close your old account until you start receiving your SSI in the new account.

You could do appointment or you can walk, go through a metal detector. After that, you’ll go up to a screen, asked what you’re there for, if you have a social security number, and if you do they’ll ask if you want to put it in or not. Hopefully that helps your answer
