Clean facility, lots of activities well planned and good food. Truly a family atmosphere.

My mother has only been in a short time … it was a very quick placement and the staff could not have been kinder, more efficient, or more knowledgeable. I will be able to review more as time goes on. But this I know. On day 3 my mom said she was cold. On day 4 she has an external heater installed in her room. They took what she said seriously and responded quickly. For this I am grateful.

I cannot say how pleased I have been with my interactions with this facility. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the assisted living landscape. They answered all of my questions and gave me a wealth of information that is relevant to my situation. The team at Brookdale Hickory assisted me above and beyond to find the best care for my mother even after it was concluded that another facility would better suit my mother's needs. There is care and compassion involved in the admission process and that creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. As someone not at all familiar with the ends and outs of assisted living I found my experience here to be enlightening and pleasant.

Brookdale Hickory Northeast is very reputable! The management there that they've had over the years has been exemplary. When it comes down to communications, they could actually do much better, but they are limited to the staff that they have and the pandemic hasn't helped much. Up until recently, my mom has had great care and her needs have been met. Due to like a staffing, and lack of communications with family members, her mother was sick recently and ended up in the hospital and in physical therapy. A little more attention to detail may have saved her a great deal of suffering. Once again, this was during the pandemic so we understand exceptions had to be made. We plan on keeping Mom in Brookdale Hickory Northeast As long as we can afford it. This is strictly out of pocket now, and her expenses went up $300 a month for 2022. It's still worth the money, but only for now.
