Great company, great owners. I've had my reverse osmosis system over 20yrs. And a whole house filter. Very attentive to customers. So happy we can filter our toxic water with such a great reverse osmosis system

I regret to throw cold water on all nice recent review on this company. We installed Ecowater model 50 under sink system about 2 years ago(through Costco). We like the improvement of water quality of course. However when we called for second annual service and filter change, the lady who responded said fee will be 250 dollars not 100 dollars sales person mentioned. I remember this figure as I got the waiver of first year service by referring one of our close friends. When I called the sales person, he denies ever mentioning 100 dollar fee! More frustrating thing is there is no replacement filter available in the market even though I searched all over online including Amazon. In fact we bought EcoPure replacement filter for Ecop30 as it is from same company and as it looked pretty similar. Well, it does not fit unfortunately. While I appreciate the improvement of water quality, I feel being cheated by this company. You pay 250 dollars essentially to replace 38 dollar pair of filters? This is not right.

Update 8/5/22: Jennifer, the office manager, contacted me right away after my review was posted. She was helpful. After 1.5 weeks of going back and forth with Jennifer and Madelyn and a few leaks later, we came to an agreement. Although I am not happy with all the events that took place, I can tell that the employees of this company are very loyal and the owners are very hands on with their company. I am hoping the various leaks will cease and we can move forward in a better direction. ————— We had our $4,000 water osmosis system installed on Monday in our new home. We were really excited to have very clean water since my kids and I drink a ton of it. Something happened with the installation that day, causing a leak, so the water was turned off. No biggie. They came back to rectify the issue and all was well until I used my laundry washing machine after they left (for the first time that week). The machine is located where the tank was installed. An hour later, my basement was flooded with a pipe that was open. They were able to have their team come out within 1 hour to stop the leak. They said the original installers had moved things around and plugged things into the wrong outlet without letting me know, causing the flood. The cost of the emergency water removal and floor restoration to avoid mold was $7,500. I spoke with Madelyn (the co-owner); she was unapologetic and just said she would call me back. Instead of calling me back directly, she had our sales rep call us back to let us know it wasn’t their product that caused the flooding, so they’re not at fault. Correct, it wasn’t their product but the flood was directly caused by their installation and misplacement of parts which caused my pipe to leak. Our sales rep, Ryan, was great and very responsive and apologetic, and everyone that came in my home was nice and professional, but now I’m out of $7,500 in damages and the company won’t take any responsibility for their error during the installation process. We went with Long Island Clean Water as they were the least expensive out of the 4 companies we spoke with and we were referred to them by our friend. In hindsight, going with a pricier company would have saved me thousands of dollars. Although this may be a one-off situation, I’m extremely disappointed with the way this was handled and I wish they showed more empathy instead of brushing me off and not owning up to their mistakes. I don’t think I’ve ever been as disappointed and heartbroken from working with a company before. I now feel weary about the included servicing they provide for the next 12 months and am not sure what to do in the future as I don’t have trust in this company anymore.

I'm editing this review - because I spoke with the company and they shared a great explanation and true customer service with me. I'm happy to be a customer. -------------- Just wrapped up my first year as a customer and received my service plan in the mail as week ago. When I called in, they told me that all customers will have a gas surcharge of $25 because of the increased gas costs. I think this is outrageous - I already pay for more expensive gas as does every other American. Now gas prices are down, when I asked what the threshold was for when they would remove the surcharge, they couldn't tell me. They said all of their customers had to pay this. I'm wondering why they didn't just put it in my service contract to begin with and why it is an add on...Given, I already paid thousands for the system and then will pay hundreds for the service, so why not just make me pay more and more and more... I'm very pleased with the product, water quality and service overall but I'm wondering making me pay for your gas to run your vehicles seems ridiculous.

It varies depending on the filtration system. What type of system are you inquiring about?

Our plumber says he has a great, cheap solution so do we really need a specialized company like L.I. Clean Water Service, Inc.?

Water treatment over the years has become a very specific field with years of knowledge and practical experience required to solve most dangerous water problems effectively. Undersizing or, worse yet, installing the wrong equipment would result in the contaminant still being left in the water. Water filtration and treatment has been our only business since 1985. We don’t install toilets, put in new wells, fix your leaky faucets, deliver your fuel oil, or clean your swimming pool. We filter your water. You wouldn’t have your plumber or handyman fix your car so why let him try to fix your water problem? Common Water Problems

We had our water tested and everything seems to be fine but I want to give my family the highest purity water possible, is there a system for us?

Of course. To get the highest purity water on a residential basis we recommend a reverse osmosis water filtration system. Such a system would provide ultra purified water to single taps in the home and to residential icemakers. Not only are they very affordable, they offer a high degree of protection from contaminants that may enter the water supply. We also offer numerous designer faucets to compliment nearly every finish made today.

Our home is served by public water and is generally pretty good but we just can’t live with the chlorine taste and odor, is there anything we can do to remedy that?

What is causing the red/brown staining to occur on my shower walls and in my toilets?

Long Island Clean Water Service, Inc. | Sep 30, 2020
Long Island Clean Water Service, Inc. | Sep 30, 2020

Iron occurs naturally in the groundwater here on Long Island with certain areas having much higher concentrations than others. Iron, while being a problem aesthetically, is not considered to be harmful. Iron in the water will not only stain fixtures, tile, clothing, sidewalks, etc.....but will actually reduce the use able life of household appliances and will restrict the flow of water through the pipes.

Why is everything, including my hair, turning green?

Long Island Clean Water Service, Inc. | Sep 30, 2020
Long Island Clean Water Service, Inc. | Sep 30, 2020

Water on eastern Long Island generally has a pH value of between 5.4 and 7.2. pH is the measure of acidity or alkalinity in a sample. As the numerical value decreases, the acidity increases dramatically. Water with a low pH is corrosive and causes a literal deterioration of the copper plumbing in your home. The blue/green is actually copper sulfate leaching into the water supply. By controlling the pH, we can neutralize the water thus preventing corrosion and eliminating the staining.

My water looks clear and doesn’t smell bad, how do I know if it is safe?

Long Island Clean Water Service, Inc. | Sep 30, 2020
Long Island Clean Water Service, Inc. | Sep 30, 2020

The only true way to determine if a water supply is safe is to have a water analysis done by a professional laboratory or by your local Health Department. Water often may look, taste, and smell perfectly fine but can possibly harbor by products that are unsafe to consume. Water testing can range from a simple “general potability” test to much more extensive chemical testing. With our extensive knowledge of the problems in the local area, we would be happy to guide you in determining your testing needs.
