Great place for family time and walking on the beach! Bring you dog too, however please be responsible and pick up dog droppings and dispose of bags in receptacles provided at beach entrance.

Huge beach, clean, soft sand in water once beyond beach, interesting pebbles and rocks. Fam loved it. Worth the drive for us. Relaxing.

The beach is nice but does have a lot of dead fish. There are very nice walking trails which have a bird sanctuary next to it. There is a WE Energies power plant near the beach entrance.

The beach was crowded in the beginning section of it, on a Sunday. I got lucky to find a parking spot in their tiny parking lot. The beach was sandy and rocky. There was plenty of less crowded/open beach area, as I walked along. It was a lengthy beach! There were so many beautiful rocks that made the water look lively with colors. The sandy cliffs captured my attention, as did the tall building towering ahead. It was such a beautiful day to visit. The waters were inviting, as the sun cast down its' warm rays. There were zero bathrooms/changing rooms. Some folks parked on the street. It was a wonderful beach. I'd go back, in a heartbeat.

For State Parks you need a pass (sticker on your car you can purchase at the entrance), but not at South Beach.
No. Sorry
A lot of people bring their kids down there and it is relatively shallow near the shore line with a gradual slope outwards.. obviously keep a close watch, but its a great spot. Helpful pointer: before heading there always check the weather/NOAA for any advisories in that area as it can develop swift dangerous currents and riptides on occasion. That being said, its a fairly safe and enjoyable area for all ages :)
Google public launch for kayak in Port Washington. It is a little hidden road next to (south)the power plant. Its off S Washington street.
South and North beach are both very popular places to take the pups to swim and play :)
It's a pretty straight shot out if the parking lot and onto the beach. There aren't any big drop offs or terribly uneven terrain to get between the two so it should be pretty easily accessible. However, there is no handicap specific ramp or anything, but again, I don't think one is really necessary to get to where the sand starts.
