Just adopted my kitten from here. She is adorable. Very playful took her couple hours and she was cuddling with me already. I love her:)

DHA is the best. The staff is friendly, and they have a pet food pantry which helps pets stay with their families during financial hardships. I appreciate their caring culture. We need more of that in this world.

Came to adopt a cat, and that's what we did. The staff was friendly and helpful. The enclosures were clean and the animals appeared to be very well cared for. We've adopted from DHA in the past and will continue to support their valuable mission.

I thank God and those who donate for making pet food available. Were it not for the Humane Society it would be most difficult to continue feeding my eight foster cats in my yard that have come to depend on me and I've been feeding them for eight years and until I found out about the Humane Society I paid $30 for a 25 to 33lb bag of food. Sure is nice not to always have to spend that money on pet food. Now, I can buy more groceries 😊. Thanks to the 👼🏽 angels help!!

DHA’s Pet Food Pantry was created to help members of our community who are having trouble taking care of their pets. Our goal is to help keep pets in their homes and reduce the number of animals surrendered to shelters for financial reasons. The pantry is operated on the honor system; recipients are not required to show proof of income to determine eligibility. Donation drop off and distribution takes place at DHA’s animal care and adoption center on A Street in Wilmington during the following hours: Tuesday through Friday – 11 am to 7 pm Saturday and Sunday – 11 am to 5 pm

Animals are not sold here. These are animals in need of a home they have been abandoned for one reason or another. Please dont buy an animal. Adopt.
If it's a male i think 45, females 60... That's my understanding
Seriously awful question. You may surrender unwanted animals there and schedule to have your female dog fixed for a low cost. Donations are always accepted.
I would contact a pit bull rescue first. Th ere are many., You could try pinups and pit bulls.
Yes. You need to be 18 i think. I'm actually a foster mom there.
My goodness! If you can't afford to take a responsibility to care for living animals... DON'T ADOPT ANYMORE. Animals are not disposable!
Faithful friends but there should be an emergency place open at these hours somewhere
We have 2 Maine Coons but they don't have disabilities and they will be 4 this Spring. Let me know if you're interested and we can schedule a time to chat. Our schedules just aren't allowing us to give them the attention that we would like

You can, but they overcharge for puppies. They have the highest adoption rates of any shelter I have ever seen. They can charge you up to $450 for a puppy and then wonder why they stay there for months at a time. Go to another shelter and maybe get an older dog, just not from here.
Hi Victoria! Please contact us at 302-571-0111 so we can get a better understanding of your questions so we can assist. Thank you!
