Yes they do! Especially if you have health problems, you can get help applying for Medicaid/Medicare, Snap/Food stamps, Medicaid transportation, they have several different programs to help with funds as well, such as their power assistance program and also heating/cooling assistance. I am diabetic and they denied me. I don't have any dependents. Nor am i eligible for disability.
