You should just go in person to your local social security office, bring all your paperwork and ID information. That way there isn't much of a chance of something going wrong. I was in a similar position, n I didn't want to send info to the wrong person/place in SS, so I just went in. Hope this helps

Go to office and apply take birth certificate and a mailing envelope with address on it
Sorta. If you go to the social security Administration website you can create a My social security account and request a new card online. If you don't have access to the internet, then yes, you do have to send in your driver's license, it says so on the instructions to the application for a new/replacement card. Your ID is sent back to you, either with your ssn card or separately Im not sure which.
I believe once you hit 67, whatever you earn doesn't affect your SS benefits. Before that age, I believe it will affect the amount you receive. Best to check w with ssa to be sure.
