Hi John, We will start harvesting Emerald Zoysia in about 3 weeks. We wait until it is pretty well out of dormancy and greened up before harvesting. Please give us a call at 704-525-8873 to reserve your Emerald sod as soon as it is available.
We'll be happy to help you with a quote but need information about your delivery address to ensure you get the correct pricing. You can request a free quote on our website or call to get a quote. We'll be happy to provide some installer recommendations as well!
how much for a pallet of centipede grass picked up
Megan, Turfgrass sod is a perishable product once it has been harvested. It is important that sod be installed soon after it has been harvested, typically the same day that you receive it. Because of this, we harvest sod at our own farms daily and bring it in fresh each morning and afternoon, to ensure that our customers get the best product possible. Due to this perishable nature, we are not able to take back sod if you have too much. However, if you run a little short of having enough, we can almost always get you what you need to finish very quickly, often times the same or next day. Thanks for your interest in Super Sod!
Tall Fescue is the most shade tolerant grass - it requires only 3-4 hours of direct sun per day to thrive. It is a cool season grass and stays green year round. It does require quite a bit of watering thru the summer and needs to be overseeded every year or two to keep it dense and lush. Zeon Zoysia is the most shade tolerant warm-season grass and only needs 4 hours of direct sun each day. It is a soft grass with a fine blade. Has excellent heat and traffic tolerance. It goes dormant in the winter. You can checkout our website to learn more and get pricing. Or please give us a call and we will be glad to answer any questions.
Soil3 compost is excellent for topdressing your lawn and can take the place of a chemical fertilizer treatment. As well as providing natural nutrients it will improve your soil structure. You should wait until the lawn is greened up - that depends on weather but usually around May. When your lawn is 2 or 3 years old - you could aerate and then topdress with Soil3. That allows the compost to get down into the root area. But don't aerate your new lawn this year.
It is not! TifTuf bermuda is particularly hardy and can be laid when completely dormant. Keep in mind it may not get fully rooted in. So keep it moist thru the winter (usually not a problem in our climate) and it will complete the rooting process as it comes out of dormancy in the spring.
Yes - you can buy individual rolls and pick them up at our store - or get full pallets delivered. To get current pricing, please give us a call or visit our online store at supersod.com. Online you can select the type and quantity of sod, pick your location and see what the price would be - then decide if you are ready to purchase. We recommend ordering ahead (either online or by phone) even for just a couple rolls so that we can reserve your sod on the day you need it.
Hi Eric. Each pallet of sod will cover 500 square feet.
Yes - we sell individual rolls of sod, partial pallets, and full pallets. It is best to order ahead of time because we cut sod fresh to order. Sometimes we might have small amounts available on the same day. For pricing and availability of the various types of sod I recommend that you call our store at 704-525-8873.
We sell sod by the rolls, not in plugs. Now is a great time to plant Bermuda. Please call this local store for pricing.
Yes, we sell rolls of Bermuda. We have Tifway, TifTuf, and TifGrand Bermuda. Individual rolls are available for pickup, and full pallets are available for delivery. We do ask that you call ahead to confirm we have the Bermuda variety you need in stock and reserve it. We harvest fresh from our farm according to orders, and any extra sod can go quickly during the busy season.
We do carry a couple of different varieties of shade tolerant Zoysia that each have different sun requirements. Let us know how many hours of direct sunlight your lawn gets to determine if they'll work for you. Our most shade tolerant Zoysias are sold only in sod, while Zenith Zoysia with medium sunlight requirements also comes in seed.
I always open my spreader full bore when overseeding.
Most of our sod come in rolls that are 2 ft x 5 ft. There are a couple of varieties that do perform better if harvested in slabs that are 16" x 24". We'll always be happy to confirm which sod cut you're getting when you call to place an order!
Yes! We do sell individual rolls for pick-up at our stores.
Our rule of thumb is that you'll likely need to mow TifTuf within 7 to 10 days of installation, as soon as grass starts growing and is tall enough to mow. Even if the roots aren't fulling tacking down the sod - mow it. You won't hurt it, in fact you'll help it! Going ahead and mowing will prevent scalping.
