The visitor center has a very good display that gives you quite a bit of background on both Polk and his presidency. Wonderful learning opportunity. And the staff here was fantastic. Very knowledgeable as I asked some questions that weren't covered by the displays. The park itself is nice with samples of cotton and tobacco growing in the garden. The buildings are reconstructions and not the actual buildings. But it was well worth the visit

Very nice walking or biking trails to get there from where I was staying. Popular with locals.

Good little museum and visitor center. The old homes are only open for tours Thursday-Saturday. Everything was moved from nearby locations.

Learned some great history about James K. Polk. Good refresher on the history of the USA.

I believe that they do in the park, there was a dog and owner walking. However I'm not sure about the main building.
