Came here for a clean room and a shower after camping a few days. We arrived and were told our room had been checked prior to our arrival to ensure it was ready- I suspect this wasn’t true. The room had a VERY strong nasty odor; not smoke, we are pretty confident it was urine. The shower had hair on the walls and there were a few dead bugs on the bathroom floor. We ended up asking to switch rooms, and got moved to the room next door, which admittedly the employee was very kind about! The room next door lacked the urine odor thankfully, but one of the outlets didn’t work and there was a mysterious white powder on the underside of the beds (bed bug powder?). Also the ice machine on our floor had mold growing on top of it. I think we would’ve been better off camping another night.

This is a real good Red Roof Inn. It's about five and a half miles outside of Asheville which is perfect. Takes no time to get into the city and at the same time you're out of the city where you can relax a little. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The room was fine with a refrigerator and microwave and it was clean without that musty motel smell. The motel itself is surrounded by trees which had a lot of shade and the grounds are reasonably well manicured. There are even a couple of picnic benches so you can have a picnic if you have kids. And although I didn't bring my pooch this time I know Red Roof inn is always a dog friendly place. Even though you feel isolated you're still within walking distance of Applebee's, I Hop, or Cracker Barrel as well as a local burger/bar and sushi restaurant. Of course there's the usual fast food places like Chick-fil-A, Burger king, Wendy's, Popeyes, etc. The motel is about a quarter mile from the highway so it's a fast access in and out and frankly to get such a nice room in this location for under $70 a night is pretty damn good in this economy. I enjoyed my stay in Asheville but one day is not enough. Next time I'm back for an extended stay to do a little more exploring and I plan on staying at this Red Roof Inn.

They are currently remodeling there rooms and they are very nice. One of the only things I very much dislike it that some of the rooms including the room I got do not have a fridge or microwave. Even the most run down junk hotels and motels I've been to over the counrty have a fridge a microwave. So it's pretty unacceptable. But it looks like they are fixing this problem so thats why I gave them 4 stars.

Truly not sure on how received 4 stars on reviews !!!!!! The room was dirty, no coffee maker in room and no little refrigerator in the room. To make experience even more terrible they start working on rooms on each side of mine. No where on reservations was there anything about remodeling/renovations. Horrible!!!!
