I'm not sure how this hotel has such a high score. Rooms are tired, dirty, and in desperate need of a renovation. Hotel Wi-Fi is terrible, couldn't even stay connected for my meetings. Air conditioning units loud. Original room didn't even have a desk, and wound up getting a downgrade when I requested a swap for one with a desk. The only redeeming quality here is the fantastic shower water pressure. I would definitely stay elsewhere next time.

Positive: Quiet, convenient location, loved the patio.there was a very nice staff person. She e planned how doubletree was going to be remodeling soon. She was very kind. Negative: Very dated. The carpet was very old and I could smell it especially at night, the bathroom was so cramped. You couldly go to the bathroom and my husband shower. The front desk does not give out water. No room service.

The foyer looks super fancy, but the rooms are just like any other motel. Location was not bad at all. Do NOT eat at the Fridays located right beside it. All the staff at the hotel was super friendly and very helpful with all questions I had.

The area around the front desk....as a matter of fact, then entirety of that floor is very nice! Having TGI Fridays connected was a bonus as well, as we didn't have to leave for dinner if we didn't want to! The Vanderbilt Tower felt exclusive and the King Suite with the balcony was very spacious. Temperature was controlled in the room by simply pressing up or down on the thermostat, which would either turn on the heat or the air conditioning. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was lovely. The water at the bathroom sink got really hot. I'd almost say dangerously hot. The lamps provided extra outlets, so all devices that need power have many outlets from which they could receive power. Speaking of lamps, there is plenty of light in this room from the four lamps, and the natural light from the sun when opening the curtains to the balcony door. As far as the area goes, as high as the volume of traffic is, it was still mostly quiet. I was able to sit on the balcony and enjoy a meal in mostly peace and quiet. Speaking of eating, there is a plethora of food options within a ten-mile radius. Pick one and go eat. Downtown Asheville is nice, though the streets seem a little tight at times, but this hotel is minutes away from downtown. I didn't really get a chance to visit the Biltmore Estate, but it is also very close to this hotel. Don't be like me, be better than me and take the opportunity to go if you want.

Not sure but it would be a great venue
Hell yeah the pool is open... not now but during whatever hrs posted at the door. You're speaking of the indoor pool right?
Within 30 min driving distance, pretty easy drive.
It is near the entrance of Biltmore ...but great views of mountains around you would require a very short 5- 10 min drive
No, but The Little Red Trolley stops there and it goes to Biltmore as well as other sites throughout Asheville. http://graylineasheville.com/trolley-tours-asheville.html#trolley_faq
This is one of the best hotels to stay at if you intend to visit the Biltmore House.
