First, I don't know how this business has 4.8 stars. I have been a patient here since 2004 and had 3 procedures here including PRK twice and Lasix once. The wait times are incredibly long, most of the time, and majority of the staff are rude and inconsiderate! In February 2021, I had an appointment scheduled for PRK at the Lake Mary Office, but my appointment was rescheduled, the 1st time, due to a water leak at the facility. The day before my surgery I receive a call that my appointment had to be rescheduled, a 2nd time, because the scheduler, who had worked there for over 2 years, had put me in the wrong appointment slot. This was a big inconvenience for me because I had come all the way from Kentucky to have this procedure, and I had to extend my stay in Florida for an extra week. The front desk staff in Daytona, schedulers and managers were very rude and inconsiderate when I complained about being inconvenienced. Moreover, I had PRK here previously, so I knew how painful this surgery was, but I was previously prescribed pain medication. This time, I had 2 doctors that warned me how painful this surgery was, yet I was not prescribed any pain medications. I tried to deal with the pain with over-the-counter pain medications because I normally don't take prescription pain medications, but it did not work. I felt as if my eye had been gouged out, and I had NEVER been in so much pain in my life. I had horrible migraines and stabbing eye and face pain to where I felt nauseous, and I could not eat much for over a week; I was mainly in bed for an entire week. I was told by the pharmacy that they could electronically send my pain prescription, as they did for my eye drops for the procedure, yet they refused to do so. I was expected to drive 2 hours, round trip, to pick up a paper prescription when it could have been e-filed. Plus, I did not have transportation to drive the 2 hours round trip. I begged for someone to help me because I was in so much pain! I contacted Sebastian Filutowski, the office manager, and he was also uncaring and rude. He branded me as a difficult patient and a drug addict who just wanted pain medications which is the furthest from the truth!! I then used Sebastian’s email format to email Dr. Conrad Filutowski, and he was equally as rude and uncaring. Once more, I was branded by Dr. Filutowski as a difficult patient and a drug addict. Dr. Filutowski’s first response to my email me was, “How did you get my personal email? It is private,” yet it was his work email. Regardless, is that how a patient who has been with you for 17 years should be treated? I WILL NOT go back to there ever again!! After this horrible ordeal, I spoke to one of the other doctors there, and they apologized to me and said that I NEVER should have been treated that way!! This doctor was flabbergasted that I was treated so horribly!! It’s clear to see, that at the Filutowski Eye Institute, it's all about the money because they clearly don’t care their patients!!

Excellent service all around! From appointment scheduling, friendly staff, to knowledgeable doctor with great bed side manners. Used to go somewhere else and was looking for a new eye institute. Glad I found Filutowski eye institute. Dr. Perlman-Hensen was excellent! Highly recommended. 👍👍
