My 90 yo mom had kosher meals on wheels delivered for about 2 years which was great. Then, her health declined and she needed an aide 24 7 so her services were discontinued. Apparently they don't give you meals if you have an aide bc they claim the aide can prepare the meals. I told them the aide is not jewish and doesn't know how to prepare kosher meals. The supervisor answered " Teach her how to cook and prepare kosher food. " In my opinion this was an insult and very much a deragatory remark with no regard to the Jewish preparation of food.

John, we have 16 sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk with 1,329 apartments. None are in Hicksville unfortunately. But reach out to our Housing Department and maybe we can help find a suitable match. 516-733-7076

Hi Barbara, And thanks for thinking of us. From time to time we are able to match those types of items with people who need them but we have no storage to hang on to them. Also, because of Covid guidelines we cannot accept and distribute those items currently. Might we suggest the Salvation Army or St. Vincent de Paul?

do you accept clothing donations. And, do you pick up.

Unfortunately we do not have the manpower or facilities to do either but we recommend the Salvation Army or St. Vincent de Paul.

My wife is going to be out of a job after this month and starting Feb. 1st we will be losing our health insurance coverage. My friend had recommended contacting the Catholic Charities they had helped her get set up with Medicaid during her divorce.
