Today was my first day at Word of Truth Church. At Sunday school, I learned so much and benefited from such an open, inviting, comfortable space where I could listen, share and ask questions. The prayer session was powerful and I loved how we were on one accord: I’d pray something in my mind and someone would pray the same thing at the same time or shortly after, or I’d pray something in my own words in my mind and someone would pray a scripture that aligns with it helping to bring it to my remembrance! I loved the part of worship when we had the lyric videos playing so that even the songs I didn’t know, I could sing karaoke style or even just read along while listening and soaking it all in. The sermon was so powerful, so needed and so right on time! So many points were made that pertained to situations I’d been struggling with! God truly uses His people to minister right to our hearts! I also loved how Pastor Bruce taught in a way that made the Bible comprehensible and really showed the symbolism in the text and how it pertains to us now, even having been written so long ago. All the women of the church were so warm, welcoming and inviting during the fellowship! I’m very shy and normally very awkward in social settings but they made me feel right at home, despite having just met them. And the zucchini bread was fantastic!!! I also have a testimony just after my first visit. I had wanted to get baptized for about a year now. Over the last month I’d been thinking about it again and it had been weighing heavy on my heart. Today Pastor, having just met me for the 1st time today, was led by God to ask me if I’d ever been baptized. Once I explained how I’d wanted to and tried to and had been waiting for so long, he made it happen! Immediately! And made it so simple, so easy! Just a few hours later, I was baptized and the experience was so much greater than I’d even imagined. I am just so humbled and grateful for this day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it! I thank God for leading me to this church and in His perfect timing!! I still can’t believe how hospitable and genuine everyone there was. I look forward to what’s to come now that this has become my new home! Holding steadfast to Romans 6, specifically vs 11 & 14. 💕

Does your church speak in "tongues"?

We are open to a sign gift of the Holy Spirit like a tongue, but it should only be done out loud only if there is an interpreter as 1 Cor. 14 tells us. Tongues are a just one of many gifts of the Holy Spirit, and all the gifts of the Spirit are welcomed in our church. To facilitate this, we have a sharing time after worship where prayers, testimonies, and gifts can be shared with the congregation.
