Yes! Register your service or the service of a woman veteran you know at www.womensmemorial.org
They have a room with computers, you type your name and the info you provided is displayed on a large screen that everyone can see.
There are people at the museum that will help with your info request. I was there with a former Vietnam OR nurse and she found her mother's name with no difficulty. Most of the books and information on display was from WWII through Vietnam. They certainly could use more info about the more recent contributions of women in the military. I suspect that Desert Storm and later info will come as books are written and exploits are revealed.
There are restrooms, water fountains with bottle refilling, and water and light snacks for sale in the gift shop.
I would like to know if my Mom's name is on the memorial? Can you show me how to get this information? Irene Van Nest - Navy Wave 1940's. thank you, Kathy Bachmann
No, they are supporter. The USO is not branch of the Armed Forces.
Check to see if the metro is near Bethesda. If so, that'd be a great way to get there. There will be a bit of a walk too. Otherwise uber over.
Good question. My brother served during Desert Storm and thank God made it back home alive, but it would be nice to have his and others service recognized.
Yes when we visit it was
The organization is in the process of changing their databases and when it is complete people will be able to change their information themselves online. Hopefully the new system will be up in early 2020.
