Decent if unexceptional. Billed as a 4-star but really comes in at a 3.5. The staff really make the place. Friendly and helpful, big shout-out to Kenneth, who are responsive. Oddly, there was no toilet paper holder in the room's bathroom. Apparently there renovations going on that did not account for toilet paper holders...well, there you go. There is a 24 hour fitness center and pool which is nice. No movies offered in the rooms just cable...again, there you go. Overall, not a bad stay but a forgettable experience.

Nice location, close to a lot of shopping areas and eateries. I didnt give 5 stars because I've been to several double tree hotels in the past few years and this one has not yet been upgraded. Everything in the rooms just look old. I also find it unusual that the garbage cans are so tiny, you can barely fit anything but tissue and paper in it, but thats just me. My rating has nothing to do with their garbage pale sizes. Mainly the upgrade is something they definitely need to invest in. Otherwise, we had a pleasant stay.

We recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel in Greensboro because we were doing college tours for our son and because of our familiarity and great experiences at Hilton properties so this was a no brainer. When we arrived we were greeted promptly and courteously. We received our keys and the complimentary famous DoubleTree cookies. That was the best part of our stay. When we got to our room, we immediately noticed a foul odor, the bed wasn't made properly and the carpet looked worn, dirty and old. This is not what you'd expect from a mid tier Hilton property. So we decided that we were going to go to another hotel because this wasn't going to work. I went to the front desk and told them we wanted to check out and gave the reasons why. They promptly checked me, said sorry and refunded the charge of the room but it was less than what we paid but I figured it was due to the reservation being through a third party. After several days, I noticed that I hadn't received my refund so I called the hotel directly, explained the situation to the front desk staff and they explained that I had to call the third party to get my refund. I ask the associate what her first name was so when I spoke to Expedia, I could give them a name and that would help with my refund. She flat out refused to answer, saying that DoubleTree associates don't give out their first name over the phone. Seriously, you can't tell me your first name even though I was a guest at your hotel??? Then I asked if I could speak to a manager who would be more helpful and she told me that they don't have managers that work on the weekends!!! At this point, I was done and there was nothing left to say to her because she obviously didn't value me, my time or the situation. I then called my credit card company to help get my refund which they were able to do. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND this Hilton property because the rooms are not up to date, the beds are not comfortable, the rooms smells, the hotel is dirty and the front desk willfully and purposefully lied to me. Update: The Assistant Manager Tracy said she is not the one who spoke with me so I have removed that from my review. However, the fact remains that the female front desk associate didn’t want to provide her name and said that managers do not work the weekends which undoubtedly was false!

My wife, my son and I stayed here for a soccer showcase from a Friday night to a Sunday afternoon in February. As this was a Hilton property and located somewhat close to the soccer venue, we chose this hotel but if we come again we will most likely stay at the airport location that other families stayed in. Overall the hotel is clean and most of the staff was friendly. For the price we paid we expected more amenities but we didn't have a lot of options close to the area we needed to be in. There is no free breakfast and the only restaurant on site is only open for breakfast and it costs $12 a person. We skipped it but our friends who stayed in the next room tried it and said it was not worth it - coffee tasted awful, eggs not good, etc. Also no fridge or microwave in the room so no way to reheat food or keep leftovers from the restaurants you have to go to in order to eat. Read online reviews that indicated one of the elevators has been out of service for at least 8 months and it was out during our entire stay. This is the large main elevator so not only are you constantly waiting on the elevator but you are relegated to the much smaller one which has far less capacity. You also have to share it with the housekeeping and maintenance staff with their carts and laundry and trash bins. There are exactly 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire 12 floor hotel and they are coin operated. There is no change machine and when we asked the front desk for change they advised we go to the gas station in the parking lot - the one with the bullet proof glass in front of the cashier and iron bars on the windows. Needless to say, the hotel is not in a nice area of town with lots of foot traffic around the hotel at all hours. The room was about the size I expected and was clean. The bathroom fan did not work and the shower and faucet run at the same time and cannot be run separately which was a huge waste of water. The walls and windows are very thin so you hear highway noise (right in front of the hotel) and other guests in the hallways walking, talking and opening and closing doors. Online and in the app it notes that housekeeping will not come to your room unless you request it and we didn't have them bother us on Saturday morning but twice on Sunday morning they tried to enter our room prior to 9:30am. The second time, the housekeeping employee, who spoke no English and was not speaking Spanish, gestured that we needed to put the hang tag on the door. This is contradictory to what we were told and as check out wasn't until 12, it's a bit frustrating to have someone trying to run you out of the room over 2 hours prior to check out. The front desk staff did not acknowledge us when we entered or when we entered with a loaded luggage cart. We did online check in but a simple hello would have been nice. We chose the Doubletree after a great experience at another one in Asheville, NC but this location leaves a bit to be desired. We were looking forward to the cookie you receive upon checking in and asked for it later at the front desk as we did online check in and it was probably about the only thing that met out expectations. My son and a friend used the gym and it was sufficient for them but they refused to use the pool as it is not heated and it was in the 40's and 50's outside. Will stay elsewhere in the future.

Are u a Hilton Rewards Member? If not ask at desk to become one and ask then for a free breakfast.
Not sure contacts the high point market shuttle.
Its okay for that type of money you pay,you would like to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room
The one off of Gate City don't have nothing but breakfast until 10 a.m.. This place needs a lot of things fixed and cleaned. The only positive thing was the staff are friendly.
