The food was salty and not good and we ordered something else and they still charged us for the super salty food. Portrayed as a Caribbean spot but as a Caribbean person that’s not what Caribbean food is

At this point I would give 0 stars if possible. I came with my family here a month ago. We had received a gift card from my employer and were excited to check out this place. First off they don’t have enough waiters on staff so you don’t see your waitress too often. She had an okay attitude. The food took a long while but we were enjoying each other’s company and happy hour. My family enjoyed their food however I was not a fan that I had to saw into the inedible outer layer of the duck dish to get to the edible portion. On top of that it took about 5 minutes to get my waiters attention to even get a steak knife. But the worst part of the night was that they did not honor their own gift cards. The waitress just informed me that the new POS system was not set up for their gift cards and that the manager was too busy in the kitchen to come out and talk with us. The waitress didn’t seem apologetic either. Unfortunately we ended up paying the bill. Upon writing my first review, the company offered to first give me new gift cards for the removal of the review. I requested a refund for my dinner in exchange for the gift cards we wanted to use. The gift cards were given to the restaurant rep and we have still yet to receive our refund and the establishment has yet to contact me to resolve this problem. If this was my restaurant, I wouldn’t allow this dishonorable behavior. They tried to apologize in their response stating it was too busy for the manager to leave his station in the kitchen to resolve the issue. So I guess their time is worth more than mine. At least Walmart has the decency to mention whether they accept card or cash. Waiters should be informing patrons as they are seating that they aren’t accepting their own gift cards.
