Easy to get a preapproval letter and change and adjust the details, but hard to find someone to actually work with when you need to go through the actual approval process. I kept being told I needed to resolve different issues and even when i did so, the person i worked with was not able to approve my loan. My realtor advised going local and it really is the better option - no pun intended. Local mortgage broker explained why Better's rates aren't truly better. I was able to secure a mortgage elsewhere. I recommend using a local broker or lender whenever possible.
