Steve Wright (no relation) is awesome...and he insists his wife is even smarter and better than he is. I believe him, as they helped me bring a very challenging situation, involving a very difficult attorney, to a successful conclusion. I've been involved in many potential deals over 25 years, as potential buyer at times and potential seller at times, involving numerous businesses. Once a business owner accepts a buyer’s letter of intent (LOI) to acquire their business, the buyer gets the opportunity to perform due diligence. The offer to purchase a business is contingent on the successful completion due diligence. The buyer is looking to verify financials many times with the help of their accountants. Recast numbers are verified typically with three years of P&L's and business tax returns. Additionally, communications between buyer and owner are opened for further verification.
