I would give ZERO stars if I could. I had an appointment at 4pm today. I arrived inside the facility at 4:05. The old women at the desk had a hard time hearing because I repeated my responses 3 times. Well after that she said the dr marked me as a “NO SHOW” I said Um it’s 4:08 And I’m here so why would she mark me as a no show? Mind you this is dr Redenbok. I’m letting everyone know so they can know just how trashy she is and to never go to her. I feel disrespected and dismissed!! I drove 20 minutes there in rush traffic! I had to pick up my son from daycare before I arrived. I literally was FIVE minutes late for my appointment that was at 4 and she had the nerve to mark me as a no show. This practice is unprofessional and ignorant. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. God forbid you’re 5 minutes late, you’ll loose your whole appointment. This place is extremely Unprofessional and embarrassing. And as for dr rendbok I suggest she takes up a new job because she’s obviously terrible at this one. I will NOT be going here ever again, and I will let everyone know how terrible of a practice this is.

Dr. Angela Barnes is a godsend. She has the kindest bedside manner and always takes her time with me during my appointments. She was instrumental in helping me begin to process significant past trauma and recommended a wonderful therapist. I will always be grateful to Dr. Barnes for that. She is a true advocate for her patients. That said, I am not a fan of Southgate Medical Group as a whole. There is almost always a long wait to reach the reception desk by phone. Furthermore, it is difficult to get a same-day appointment, even if you call first thing in the morning. On a Friday, I called at 8:15 a.m. asking for appointment to get a steroid. I had had an allergic reaction to a new prescription, and the Benadryl I had taken for several days wasn’t helping. The woman I talked to told me their next appointment was Tuesday (it is a holiday weekend). I was floored by the mere suggestion that I would wait four more days to be seen while fully broken out in hives. I waited on hold close to 15 minutes to talk to a nurse before giving up. So I drove to an urgent care up the street and was seated in a patient room in less time than I had spent on hold with Southgate waiting for the nurse. I am thankful to be a patient of Dr. Barnes’, but when I need to be seen outside my annual exam, this practice can rarely accommodate me. This issue was not a result of COVID, either – I have been a patient for many years and it has always been like this. I would not deal with Southgate if not for Dr. Barnes. She is that exceptional.

Received a letter stating that we were contacted over 20 × to make an appointment for my husband which was not true we never received one letter or phone call from office . obviously I was upset and a little rude when I spoke with the office manager/COO, because this letter wasn't true she said there was nothing more she could do because on their end it shows we were contacted, and they were short staffed and cant keep calling people and that we needed to find a new primary doctor , She could have cared less about what I was trying to explain to her and she then hung up on me. Kinda funny that 3 days later I myself received a letter dated the day after i talked to her saying I was dismissed from the practice because of a disruption of the doctor /patient relationship. I left her 3 messages to call me back too discuss the letter ( was not rude this time)and received no response. After being a patient for well over 15 years Wonder if the doctors there know what she's doing .
