I worked in mental health for 11 years, I have never seen such disregard for patient safety. The therapist I was assigned to kept canceling and rescheduling and I wound up not being able to see my psychiatrist because of it. Psychiatrist has not reached out at all and I'm on a SSRI medication which CANNOT just be stopped.

They add water to the methadone in your face like it all good. There are two nurses who are straight up rude. The counselors are spineless.

Me and my husband went here bc we were days into detox, you do have to drug test then come back do your assessment and if your drug test matches your assessment then they will schedule you are doc apt and the same day you go to the doc they dose you with your first dose, and it's all based on how much drugs you do a day on the outside! Nobody gets special treatment, but sure every caseworker is different but it's been almost 3weeks clean from heroin and my case worker has already given me a treatment plan and explained tapering down once I've met the different personal goals and maintained my sobriety and also been honest about my triggers so they can help as much as possible in my full recovery! Also they do offer therapy to anyone who wants it, and after covid-19 they will continue group. I would recommend Pilsen wellness center to anyone seeking sobriety or if you need a program for court orders!

Upon arriving at the center I express that I prefer to work with women. I was scheduled for regular visits and we blocked the calendar for a two-month period. I meant with a nice young woman and we discussed a plan. I returned home and on the following day I was told that they would not accept me as a patient. Anytime between that visit and that phone call I had called the center to speak with the young woman with whom I had met. You never did return my call. A man, the director, called me. I express to him I would prefer to speak with a woman and that is listed in my case. He and I quote said duly noted. Engaged. I do not recommend it to anyone I have been in worse shape since I left because I cannot believe that I was treated in this manner by any health professional.

It all depends on the doctors schedule. Ive been there a few years off and on. Ive had to do the intake 3 times. The first two times i did the paperwork and the health screen with the doctor and was dosed right away. This last time i couldnt see the doctor til the next day. The first two times i was on self pay, this last time i used the medical card, although that wasnt the issue. When i went back it was late november and they were swamped with new patients. So, as long as the doctor is there u should be able to dose right then. I would call to double check though. I went to dhs on monday and Wednesday i went to the clinic with the print out with my medical card number. I didnt have to wait for the card, they will take you as long as you have that medical card number. So, u should be good but like i said, u never know so i would just call to double check that u can get dosed the same day.
If u have the medical card, its free. If you are paying by self pay its 45$ per week and i think 65 for the initial visit.
They no longer charge $10 your Medicare /medicaid covers it yes you can get doesed the same day I encourage you to give it a chance I have been there a little over 4 years now and I am happy to say by the grace of God I will be finished by May but I am going very slow as I was on a high doseage. I didn't know about the 10$ to start but I'm sure they will work with you.
