Can’t say enough THANK YOUs or kind words about the team at Mahec Dental. I had a bad fall and needed emergency care to reset and stabilize my teeth. Dr. Bridge was so kind, gentle, and professional..made me feel calm and comfortable on a pretty horrific day. Front desk and dental assistants were also great!

Hi Joy! Yes, we accept Humana and Medicare. We do have a fairly long wait time right now for new patients at our Biltmore office, but we could get you in quicker at our Columbus office. Just call if we can help!
UPDATE - Just heard back from our practice administrator and we do indeed take Humana. We have two office locations - one in Asheville and a brand new, state of the art office in Columbus. Both are taking new patients. The Asheville office has a fairly long wait list, but Columbus is able to get folks in a bit quicker. Just let us know how we can help you! Hi Joy! I wish there was a simple answer :-) New patients need a comprehensive exam (and xrays if you don't have any to send us from another dentist), and then the cleaning. So it really depends on what "level" of cleaning you end up needing. If you have insurance it’s likely the cost will be covered at 100%. If you don't have insurance, we offer a 25% discount for self-pay patients. Our front desk folks will be glad to talk with you and give you more concrete information based on your current situation. Hi Ashley! We do not take walk-ins. But most days we have a few same-day appointment slots available if you call first thing (we open at 8am). If you're a new patient, a same day appointment may not be an option since we would need to do an comprehensive exam to establish a treatment plan. Hope that helps!

Hello Clara! It would depend on the complexity of the root canal. Some root canals require an endodontist. Our scheduling specialists can ask you some questions over the phone to help determine the best plan.....please feel free to call us at 252-4290 and we'll be glad to try to help you. The user who posted below is incorrect - I double checked with our dental practice manager and NC Medicaid DOES cover root canals for children up to age 21. Please call us if we can be of assistance!
Hi Jimmy, thank you for your question! We do not accept auto pay. Self pay patients need to pay up front with cash, check or major credit card. We also accept most major insurances, including Medicaid and will file insurance for you. Let us know if you have other questions!
