What a gem! The Double Eagle is a charming and rustic resort nestled at the base of the majestic mountains of June Lake. It's a 3 minute drive to the ski basin. The cabins are the perfect, with bedrooms, kitchen and fireplace. The pool, hot tub and restaurant all deliver. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. ππ»

[BUYER BE AWARE] : More Low Rent Apartment Less Resort I will start by saying I can tolerate a lot as far as accommodations can go, but I 100% believe people should know what they are buying verses being swayed by misrepresented photos. First, this is not a hotel. Its more like a pre-fab double wide trailer. There is no soundproofing, which means the person upstairs who is insistently pacing and walking loudly at 10:11pm doesn't realize or doesn't care that there are others down below. Their kids who are jumping feel less annoying and intrusive, because their thuds and bangs are one offs. Two, I decided if I went to bed early the noise wouldn't matter, but once I turned down the bed, I noticed lots and lots of hair (not mine) still on the sheets, as well as pillows that were made of overused, unsupported, broken down fiber-fill. The hair was on both beds of our double bed room. I'm assuming this place is for people who come for the price and know to bring their own bedding. I can only assume these are the people who are rating the place highly, because honesty, the accordion doors with the fake wood laminate, separating the bathroom from the bedroom, doesn't feel above a 3 star. Lastly, our room phone was not connected, meaning, there is no dial tone or sounds, just a feeling like you're using a prop phone intended for staging. Also, the ceiling fan hangs at 5 foot ten inches, so if you're taller than that, watch your head. We did eat dinner at the restaurant. I will leave a review for that next.

Okay so from the start we begin with 5 stars. 1 star off for absolute tasteless food and slow service in the restaurant. Food taste is below normal and just not good. Our bottle of wine arrived after dinner was finished so no real point. Next, 1 star off for requiring guests to take all the linens out of the room during checkout and place them outside. Maybe covid precautions? But not really since they said to leave the pillows. Not sure why but I do not want to do housekeepingβs job at the end of my stay. 1 more star off for rooms/cabins being old and run down. My dogs were chasing mice all night long in the kitchen. They get the two stars for location and for being a nice property. 100% not worth the price to stay there. Weβve had much better experiences in the Loop for about 1/3 the price. Wonβt be back for sure, shouldβve just kept with our normal spot.

Staff was fabulous from housekeeping to front desk. Even the daily people that picked up trash and delivered firewood were great AND really seemed to enjoy their jobs.. Quiet, peaceful surroundings, wildlife and true nature and natural environment. A special shoutout to Veronica for her attitude, humor, and dedication to personally see that each and every guest was happy and satisfied with their stay π β€. Chris at the pool/spa was also a super employee. He just was gracious and caring about each and every person he saw or had any contact with. A completely dedicated staff for just doing a grand job. Simply a relaxing and enjoyable stay...loved the time there. THANK YOU ALL!!!
