Lovely camp ground. No hook ups, so come prepared. The sites are pretty level, few lumps and bumps. Nice bushes and clumps of grass. I was drawn to the beauty of the 17th tree to the right of the rock that was 43 paces left of the entrance. There was one blue jay that tried to start a fight, but after a stern talking to by the camp host all was well.

Great place to stay, relax and fish.

Was a beautiful place to camp and well worth the 6 hour drive. The rangers were the best! Short walk to the lake. Water was beautiful and so was the scenery. Will definitely be back.

Cool campground by beautiful silver lake in the June Lake loop!

The showers at Silver Lake take quarters. If memory serves, it's 50 cents for 2 minutes.
Yes restrooms are open, showers remain close.

Yes at the silver lake general store.
If you are planning on staying at the National Forest Campground you don't need a permit to have a camp fire, they have fire pit at each site... But if you are planning on staying at the RV park you can't have a fire at the camp site but they do have a fire pit at their picnic area.
I noticed a lot of people chose to leave Sunday, I would suggest starting the search early though.
You can get a walk-in at Silver. Maybe not one of the premium sites right on the lake, but generally speaking you should be ok. We've only had 1 or 2 years we had to camp elsewhere because it was completely full. Only some of the sites can be reserved and several are walk in only. Drive in slowly and check the tags. If someone is leaving that day, go have breakfast across the road and if they're up, maybe ask if they'll text you when they leave, or let you leave a chair so others will know it's already taken. You can fill out a new tag, pay up, and leave it behind theirs so the host knows you're moving in. I think checkout is 12, but if they leave early you're fine to move right in.
Yeah, there are several lakes in the vicinity, including Silver Lake right there at the campground. Just steer clear of all the fishermen along the shore. You don't want your pup getting tangled up in someone's line.
No pull through sites. But, RV and tent, Yes
Not at the campgrounds. They do have some across the street that look very cozy.
Yes. Just keep it on a leash. Please don't be one of those that let their self entitled arrogance believe their dog doesn't have to be tied up.
Sites 17 through 28. A lot of people like 17 through 20.
Or, you can buy a pop up shower tent and water source (solar shower or portable pump shower). See Pinterest or Google search for setup ideas.
Yes
Honestly, arriving a day early will be your best chance of getting a ff spot. This campground is very popular and small so apots go quickly. There are people driving around starting 6 AM looking for a free spot.
I doubt it. We're here now for 10 days and there's a line every day of people looking for sites.
Yes it is open. Make reservations at recreation.gov
yes at the general store there jus left staurday awesome place fishing is a slow good luck player
There are no limits on tents but no more than 6 people per site unless it is a double site. There are 2 double sites numbers 15 and 16 then you can have 12 people.
Yes, was just there last weekend. Fire pits are a go!
It is open 👍🏻
I've seen many roof top campers. Some on Vans, also pickups during our stay. Also an occasional person sleeping in their car. You should be fine. I know the hosts and they are very sweet and accommodating
12 noon
All sides for $23 a night unless you have a golden age pass and that's half price
There is parking at the Rush Creek Trailhead where you should be able to park your car for free. Can also park it along the highway if you're ok leaving it there.
They do have tent camping. We usually do both, have a camper and a tent. Some sites are bigger than others but it is a really beautiful place. Was a little over flown with water this year due to all the snow but still enjoyable
There are the same as all bear boxes I've seen in CA campgrounds
