Beautiful beach, stunning views, calm waters and lovely locals. We visited here as a chill day from our back to back road trip. It’s absolutely stunning. The water isn’t too deep, which is perfect for families who want to paddle. It’s very clean and has no rubbish.

We visited June Lake on pleasant September afternoon. The parking lot wasn’t full yet, despite it being a Saturday (it wasn’t Labor Day!). Day use doesn’t require any payments either. The lake was stunning, with beautiful blue clear waters and a steep mountainous backdrop. It’s also dog friendly (dogs must be on leash though). There were no algal blooms, so we played fetch with our dogs in the lake for an hour before heading out. Washrooms were large and cleanish. Standard septic tanks. Would highly recommend overall!

Beautiful scenery. Floating rocks, the beach is covered with pumice and if you get the dried rocks from up the beach they will float in the lake. Oh yeah, I had some really good conversations with the people who work there too.

The entrance to the lake is free, but if you can do camping but I don't know if it takes a reservation, we only go to the lake to swim and be comfortable for a few hours. It's beautiful.
Is it possible to stay overnight at the beach with a tent?
Not on the beach, but there are two campsites very close.
Everything on the June Lake Loop had been booked. However, last week we were able to find a really lovely site at Lower Lee Vining about 15 minutes past the Loop on 395, at the beginning of Tioga Pass. Creekside, first come first serve, my family had an awesome time.
