We were enjoying the campground and having a lovely time until we started finding ticks. Between our friends and us there are more than 20 so far. They were on the kids, on the dog, in the campers, and now they’re crawling out from our dirty laundry at home. There has to be something that can be done. We didn’t even go in the woods!

A great place to bike, hike and run. Many trails that offer a peaceful time with nature. Completed a snowy hike with the Michigan Gravel Grinders group and look forward to going back again soon

This place is a must for Annual Harvest Festival Campout! The best Halloween fun for kids. This year was our second year and we will be coming back for sure. People invest so much to prepare their campsites with Halloween decorations. There …

All I can say is there was no mosquitoes! Everything else was great also. Camping is wonderful here with lots of people that contribute to the decor. Great place to plan a yearly Halloween camping trip will post more photos as the weekend goes on.

I dont believe pets have access to water at bishop lake they are not allowed past sidewalks encircling lake but believe they can use other lakes.
Bishop Lake?
Map? I don't have one. We were told camping is general admission. No assumed fire pits.
No, you can make reservations for camping through the MI DNR website. You must have the recreation pass in order to enter the campground.
In the main campground they have 30 and 50 amp service and pump out stations. They have rustic camping options as well. Check the state parks website for all the details.
You need the State Recreation pass on your car. You can get it when you renew your tabs for $12 or buy it at the gate for $17.
You can find camping, hook up and reservation questions online at michigan.gov/dnr or search Brighton Recreation Area. There are several links.
Yes
They do have cabins up there but I don't know if they rent them out in the winter
I wouldn't recommend it
Yes they do have a camp ground specifically for people with those beautiful creatures. In other words. Yes they also have trails for you to ride with your horse. Not sure the length but you can call the Brighton dnr office for any questions
Park pass.Depends if you get 1 time or annual.
Yes there are rentals. Kayaks, SUPs and such at the boat launch for a reasonable cost.
Yes
No, not much cell service either. I go to camp and get away, don't need it.
The Michigan dnr website should have all of that information readily available.
Technically no, I don't believe so. There are signs up by the beach area prohibiting dogs.
$15 for 45 minutes. They also offer all day passes for $60 I do believe.
Like $21 a night.. Or $18 for rustic..
No. You can Buy A Day Pass when you arrive.
This is a great place for camping, canoeing and hikinh.
There is a campground office phone number on the DNR website. Simplest way to find out is to call and ask.
I don't believe there is any designated sledding areas, but there are some hills there to do your own.
Anyone who lives in the park would be homeless. I remember zero homes within the park.
Yes! A section of Bishop Lake Campground is open year-round. The sites have 30 AMP electrical hookups, and the restroom building is also available. You can also use the dump station to empty your waste tank year-round. However, the water spigots at the dump and fill station are winterized/unavailable for use once the weather gets too cold.
You can take a chance and get it first come first serve but you can also pay the fee and reserve it. I have not reserved it before but most pavilions in state parks are between 60 and 80 dollars depending if they have electricity or restrooms attached. Hope this helps.
