Very cool place! Spent a couple hours here enjoying the property and touring the estate. Lots of knowledgeable and friendly staff.

One of the best places to walk, explore, and enjoy. Must visit!

Beautiful gardens and mansion. I consider this a half day experience and if you are in wilmington probably the biggest thing you want to see there

No..not now. But if you are coming in the summer, it probably would be a safe idea.
There is also a stand alone set of bathrooms close to the parking lot.
Yes
No reservation needed. The guided tours are only offered at specific times but you are welcome to wander around. The staff is really knowledgeable and willing to explain things.
Hello, Our Mansion is ADA accessible and most of the gardens can be accessed as well.
No you can just go there. It costs $12 for adults and you stay as long as you like. That might change at Christmas time. But now it's open going..
Not unless some event is going on
Yes there is a reservation fee for entrance. 2 weeks ago it was $8 per person. And yes you have to book on the phone and pay it in advance.
I've been there several times and don't think a 5 and 7 yr old would enjoy touring the house. Unless they are into that at those ages.
You can stay as long as they're open.
Best to call them about the chairs. There are a few benches around the property. They close at 5pm, unless there is a special event, but call to confirm.
I would not expect anything less than 3 hours. If you really want to enjoy it and see the full estate it. And you can take a lunch. Or I believe they have a place you can get lunch. But it's only open so many hours.
No its private
There are guided tours available, but we walked around ourselves. There are very helpful people in each section to answer any questions and share interesting facts.
Pay
yes it is but there is a ton to do outside.
$18 adult. $16 senior, student with ID, and military. $8 for children ages 5-16. $40 family (2 adults and up to 4 children). They also offer membership rates too.
Alfred E Dupont lived there with his second wife and children. Winterthur is another Dupont mansion that was inhabited by Alfred's relative.
Don't know you'll have to contact them.

Hello, tickets can be purchased when you arrive at the gate.
Please check the Nemours website. I believe it reopens in mid-May. The gardens will be awakening and a visit then should be astonishing.
Seems they are closed on all Mondays.
The website says the holiday exhibit is until January 6, which is Saturday. Jan, your should be answer needs to be for definitive. Can you do that?
No, you may take pictures or video at will. Outside the house, visitors have a lot of freedom to explore. The shuttle tour to the garage is recommended for an overview of the grounds and areas you may want to explore.
Do not know. Was there in the summer.
Built for his 2nd wife to try to make her love him...it didn't work. She loved his money.
Of course you would need to ask the volunteers. I have never heard of any wedding groups been there.
