Excellent place. It depends where the person is in wanting to get sober. Just like any facility in that respect. Unfortunately I have had to be at all of Rehabs, detoxes, and hospitals in Rochester. So I can say with experience, THE BEST detox center AND rehab in the area. The detox has walk-ins. Just show up as early as you can. The rehab you can call ahead and schedule a check-in day and time. I found it easier to do a walk in for detox and then transfer to rehab. If you are so badly of that they don't have medicine or services there that you need, they are able to get you to a hospital that has what you need so you can come back when you're stable. They are also able to connect you with Open Access if they don't have what you need to stabilise. Open Access will be able to connect you with what you need. I saw another review here that said he was sent away because "they didn't have what he needed" for detox. That's bull. If that's the case then he wasn't willing to let them get him to where he needed to go. I know through experience that they are extremely well connected and can help anyone who actually wants to get help. The food is great. Just don't try the turkey burger, they tend to burn the broccoli, and they have home fries/potato sides 9 times out of 10 meals. I actually did not want to see anything made from potatoes for a while when I left. But that's the only downside to their food. It's all fresh, the cooks know what they're doing. Best food for a rehab or detox in Rochester. The counselors and support staff are absolutely wonderful. Truly great. No where else can you find that has only 2 staff that will be annoying. Everywhere else has lots of staff that will get on your nerves. There's lots of groups during the day to kept me occupied. They also have a small gym to work out some physical steam. Every room has a T.V. If you choose to go to their rehab, you get to have internet access. They have all the bathroom stuff you could possibly need. I never ran out of toiletries, towels, or blankets for colder days. In the end I didn't want to leave. But they got me connected and ready to take the next step towards permanent sobriety. I highly recommend Helios if you are actually trying to get sober.

Unprofessional and horrible patient care. Sent a family member away after being sent there by there doctor. They should be ashamed of the treatment they give to patients in need.

What is the best time for me to go there for an evaluation for inpatient, and what do I have to bring with me.

Tami La Fever | Sep 29, 2019
sherrie dantonio | Sep 29, 2019

The first thing to do is to call them, let them know you want to come into inpatient. Tell them, you need help with your substance use and you want to stop using. Then the process will begin, to get you into inpatient. There is steps they need tollow to being able to get you in. They will guide you, by going over the process with you. They can not accept walk ins. Likely an assessment evaluation, will be arranged by phone.
