I was a patient in this facility in 2006 and 2007 in their children's wing, and they had extremely abusive tendencies. They ended up giving me a dose of thorazine because it was "easier than dealing with me" and ended up giving me dental work that permanently ruined my teeth, causing me immense pain. One of the fellow patients assaulted me during one of my two stays, each of which lasted two to three months despite being completely under control and sane by that point.

So this is a 10 year review and I know alot of things can change in 10 years but from what I’ve heard and seen, it hasn’t. I was 12-13 years old when I was placed here. I have suffered from bipolar disorder bpd, and autism for a long time. My mother placed me in there care for about a month. On several occasions I was restrained and injected with sedatives for ridiculous reasons. I was 12 years old and laying on my back on the floor rocking a chair back and forth with my foot and apparently that means I need to be forcefully injected with a sedative. I went on a visit with my mom the day after but I don’t remember it much because I slept for three days after they injected me with the sedative. The second abusive thing was that I was in my room getting ready for the day and I was taking a really long time to get ready and a male staff member came in a and pinned me up against the wall by my arm and left several huge bruises across my tiny arms (again I was 12-13) all because he was impatient because I wasn’t ready as fast as I should’ve been for him. There was a really sweet redheaded old lady that worked there at the time named Sharon, Karen or Carol or something like that. I really hope she is doing well and we need more people like her in this world. Also one of the social workers, I don’t remember her name but I remember her telling me about her infant son ripping her earring out of her ear and have half of her lower ear flap ripped off, she was really amazing too.
