This is an excellent place to visit while in the Finger Lakes region. Chris was helpful and informative when we entered the Visitor's Center and gave great advice about what birds we would probably see on each of the trails. We had not read anything about it, but just happened upon the center and so glad we did! Great collaborative venture between the state of NY and Audubon.

We loved seeing the migrating ducks as well as the ospreys. The Visitors Center was also great.

A phone call to them should get you the info you need. I find the staff there to be enthusiastic and helpful.

Have Sandhill crane frequented this region ? I had seen 2 today flying over Kirkwood NY very high up but rattling trumpeting was heard. They were southerly traveling.
