A nice discovery on hutchinson island that nature lovers will enjoy. And it's free!

Great place to visit.

Amazing place, it's so massive, plenty to do & see. Nothing better than seeing how natural life is.

It is illegal to leave non-native species or any other animals in a National Park.
According to the rules and regulations no pets are allowed whatsoever. No dogs, or the like, unfortunately.
The ¾ mile Centennial Trail is the shortest and easiest of the three trails at the refuge, and it’s also wheelchair accessible – paved or boardwalk its entire length. Two other trails within the refuge are available for walking around the mangrove-lined impoundments – Bird’s Impoundment Trail and Pete’s Impoundment Trail. Each is a 2.5 mile loop with little shade but plenty of birding opportunities.
You are allowed to fish on the Bird Impoundment Trail(only on the river side, fishing within the salt water marshes of the refuge is not allowed). You can also launch a kayak on the riverside of the refuge and fish from there. There's a specific place to launch the Kayaks from and make sure to pay attention to the signs. Some areas, Such as, the original Pelican Island are of off limits. It is usually very obvious which areas are off limits on the water.
They are open every day
I saw several people with dogs on a leash. Enjoy
