Great place to go if you want ticks. This summer there is a bad infestation. After coming back from a hourish walk there our dog had 17 ticks I was wearing bug and tick repellent and a hat on most of the time but still ended up with one in my hair. I come here often but won't be back in the summer months from now on. 😒

Very cool little hidden gem in the area. free to get in. porter potty, picnic tables and visitor center. brochure for info on the birds. we saw a few. very fun trails. Some old cool oaks that look a bit distorted too.

This place has the largest forest of Cottonwood Trees in all of the western USA. Really beautiful and serene!!

This place is amazing if you love nature. For you bird watchers, this is a haven of so many small birds. Its only about a 1 1/2 mile trek.

Hummingbirds are like other birds, they fly south for the winter. If the season provided for them well, then it is likely that they will return in the spring. Some of them will stick out the winter though if they are too old or too young to fly the distance. If you are wondering when to hang feeders, all year-round is great because it provides energy for those that can't make the flight south, and maybe give incentive for the others to return.
The closest motel is Paradise Cove Lodge. You would have to call them for current rates.
