I was an Ithaca Carshare member for about a year between selling my old car and moving away. The cars were always clean and in good condition, the locations were convenient to my home downtown, and there was always one available nearby. The couple of times I needed to contact the service desk (like when someone had parked in my return spot) they helped me quickly. Cost-wise, it makes the most sense for shorter, in-town errands when you have to carry something heavy. If you're considering going car-free in Ithaca, which is a great place for it, Ithaca Carshare is a good option to have when you need it.

I loved their idea but didn’t like their stupid process of (so-called) due diligence procedures. I am from Bangladesh, driving since 2016. Then I took US License in 2022 and drove the car from all rental car companies. However, I failed to meet their insurance requirements of driving history. They were pushing for a driving history document, which is not provided by my country. So, if you can’t produce such documents, do not waste your time on their membership. Better to drive a car from other car rentals—easy, quick, and human services.

Ithaca Carshare was a game-changer during my time in Ithaca while studying at Cornell (during the pandemic)... I feel there was my life *before* I discovered Ithaca Carshare, and life *after*. Super convenient, and made such a difference during those times I'm a) in a hurry to go somewhere and no time to wait for other transportation, b) there is extreme weather, c) there are no Ubers available, d) it's off-hours and the bus isn't running. The only thing I personally didn't like (prob my fault) was sometimes I would time it too tight, run just a few minutes over and be charged $$.

I love carshare - I can rent a car or truck, for a couple hours, for a reasonable price!
