Unfortunately, my experience did not make it past the phone call. No one answered the phone. I called on 11/16/2021 at 11:20 AM and literally hung up the phone at 11:24 AM.... not the type of responsive behavior expected from a respected and reputable organization.

You would have to process the loan in Peru
You can do it on the BCP website viabcp.com but if you want the physical card you have to go to Peru in person

No, it is not valid
You can do a wire transfer. The BCP "says" that it charges US$50, but you will get $120 less (to your US bank). Then your US bank will charge another commission (between $15 to $50). BCP Peru will tell you that "the intermediary bank" is the one that kept the $120 (...and after investigating, you will realize that the "intermediary bank" is BCP Miami!
$50 according to BCP Peru. $170 is going to be the reality (since "the intermediary bank" charges commission). You will discover that the intermediary bank is BCP Miami.
You have to notify the store that it is a debit card but it is better to pay with a credit card and then in the same app pay the credit card with your savings account
