UPDATE: I read your response. I’m wondering why you didn’t tell me the truth when I asked why the Customer Care Center’s rate was so much less than your rate. If you remember, you told me they must’ve missed the “surcharge”. Since apparently you new the answer to the question, you could’ve just gone ahead and told me they’re able to offer a flat retail rate with no surcharge. Sometimes withholding information can be considered a type of dishonesty. (That’s what my wife would say) Since it was my package to my friend and it’s my Google Review and you obtained my wife’s name and her personal email from the UPS system and you are using them in a manner she did not authorize, I respectfully request for you to delete her name from your response to my Google Review. However, please don’t delete your response. I think you did an excellent job of explaining why your rates are higher. Everyone appreciates transparency ... I’ve read many of your responses to your Google Reviews. I can tell you truly care about your business. Sadly, we had an inferior experience with your business yesterday. I understand, everybody has an off day occasionally. Nonetheless, I try to be extremely honest and fair with my reviews but I don’t negotiate. We had a one-star experience at your business yesterday. I’m not sure if this place is running some type of scam but we’ve always felt like mailing our UPS packages here was a bit on the high side. Well, here’s what we verified today. About a week ago we mailed a small box of cookies to a friend in Nevada UPS Ground for $12.55 at the UPS Customer Center on 1800 N. Today we attempted to mail the same size box of cookies to the same address in Nevada at this UPS Store on 400 N and they wanted over $23. The manager said there was a “surcharge”???? So, we went over to the Customer Center again and it was $12.55 and they said they’d never heard of this so called “surcharge.” My question is what in the world is this $10 “surcharge” going towards? And my advice is buyer beware. This place may be convenient but definitely not worth twice the price for exactly the same UPS service.
