This is the second Tru in which I have stayed. Much like the other Tru, it is decorated in a modern minimalist style. Rooms are very small but clean and with comfortable beds. The lobby has a billiards table and an array of little nooks for reading or doing work. Staff was very friendly and the hotel is located near the zoo and Saluda Riverwalk. Only reason it is not 5 stars is the room size. This is Columbia, SC, not Manhattan, there is no reason a modern hotel room should be this small.

Usually in the summer months you walk into a hotel room and it’s hot. Not this one. It was a cool 71° in my room. Also, I was looking for a little orange juice in the late afternoon and Cheneta took good care of me. She was very nice and I was very thankful. I would definitely stay here again.

For the price I paid, I expected a lot more. As an honors member I definitely expected a lot more. Had to request daily cleaning. Room and bed were great, hotel was quiet, shower gel already in shower, pool table in lobby, other than price for what I got and having to request things that should be done daily, I enjoyed it.

I had a lay over in flight because a flight member had covid, and I was told that a manager had to assist me because I couldn't make it to the hotel to check in. Well I spoke with a manage @1200 today and was told that I would get a response from her in 45 minutes to an hour, well I got no response and the front desk be very rude and can't seem to assist me in no way. So please if you see you have a flight lay over please don't check into this hotel threw the app because you will not be refunded or helped in no way.
