This place was okay. We had site 14 and there wasn’t a really a great place to put our tent. It’s slanted everywhere and where it isn’t, you’ll be between the bear box and campfire which was not an option. There was an active bear when we went in early June 2022 but we were okay. Just be sure to be bear aware. 10 min drive from Aspen!

This is a really nice campground close to Aspen for tents and RVs of all sizes. We were traveling in a 25' travel trailer and a friend who was traveling with us was in a 30' travel trailer. We were in sites 14 and 11. The sites were plenty big enough for our campers plus trucks, but both sites were pretty sloped. Leveling was a little tricky. The pit toilets were some of the cleanest we have ever seen and the hosts were extremely friendly. Take note that there are no hookups, nor is there a dump station, so this is a 100% dry camping experience. Drinking water is available, though, and there is one water spicket that you can pull your camper up to in order to fill your fresh water tank. There is an abundance of hiking nearby, Independence Pass is a short drive away, and there is a nice multi-use path that takes you past a nature preserve and into Aspen. We saw multiple moose along this path. Great experience and we would certainly stay here again if in the area.

Very beautiful campground in the middle of the woods and some 10 minutes by car away from Aspen Center. When we left in the morning around 9AM, we saw a bear walking on the side of the road.

We had a wonderful experience at this campground! We were at site #8 which was secluded with lush, green Aspens and a small creek. Even with every campsite filled, the grounds were quiet. There are trails all around the campsite, and downtown Aspen is only 10 minutes away. More than one car CAN be parked at the site; however, it’s $7 per night for each additional car. There is also a free parking lot nearby the group campsite. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming - we enjoyed talking to them. There have been quite a few bear incidents, so it’s really important that you lock up or throw away trash and food. Bathrooms have a lot of flies, but they are clean regardless.

Pretty sure you can't see it from any of the sites. Maybe a couple of hundred feet to walk from the closest site.
Yes. Recommend you unhook car when backing into your site.
Yes difficult campground does have a walk-in site. As well as many of the other campgrounds. They dont have alot of walk-in sites but there are few.
No, it's a campground. Hence the name campground.
Paved yes. Reserveable yes
Agreed no showers. But one of the best campgrounds in the area. Every site is nice and secluded.
You can reserve online and pick specific sites. Fire bans vary by day.
