Straight Lake State Park

BRING BUG SPRAY! We went hiking on the Straight Lake Trail here today and the mosquitoes were terrible. It was pretty nice though. There was only one other car in the parking lot and we didn’t come into contact with anyone while we hiked. It was peaceful. Also, there’s a lot of random raspberry bushes (free food) on the trail. 🙂 They have nice primitive campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. At the parking lot in the middle of the trail, it looked like they even had wheels and carts for hauling stuff. We walked down to the boat launch area and it was a really pretty view. There’s a picnic table down there and a grill. I really enjoyed having the park to ourselves.

I’m only giving ; stars for honest review. I stopped giving five stars when I learned air bnb will boot anyone without a 4.8 or something ridiculous so your hustled to give unfair reviews. This place is beautiful it’s clean it’s amazing. There are wheel barrows to cart in, campsites are not far from parking. The thing that shocked me to the core- the bathroom is spotless !! It wreaks yes but it’s pristine. I don’t know how they do it especially with the sign that states bathrooms are not maintained daily. One of my new favorite drive to tent sites.

Small but beautiful park. Campsites are easy to get to. Lots of trees. Boat launch after site 8 has a nice picnic area. Easy launch for kayaking.

Gorgeous trails! This park is peaceful and quiet. Lots of wildlife.
