We have been to several air and space museums and wondered if this would be worth the stop. It absolutely was and we consider it a must see. The museum is nicely done and the planes are impressive. Even the bathrooms are themed. Well worth going out of your way to see.

They have most of the great military planes and jets. Well worth it. Send the GF, wife, kids to the mall so you can enjoy it . The blackbird, the B36. The ICBM missiles outside are interesting. They have the model of ICBM that flew the Mercury mission into space. Nice to see it in person, small than I imagined hearing of the missions in the early 60s as a school boy.

Great displays and history lessons. Play area for children. Amazing themed bathroom. More aircraft coming including Stealth Fighter.
I have a book entitled "Convair B-36" a comprehensive history of Americas Big stick.
It is in excellent condition and I would like to give it to a museum where it could be used as a reference. I spent 6 years in the B-36 program at EAFB. So.Dak.

I can tell you they have a very nice museum, and will take care of it.Most of their staff is retired Air Force
I talked about Mt. Home AFB, Idaho (M) (SAC) the 1st, the 5th and the 99th were Squadrons, not the 99th wing we had the 9th Air refueling sq. Did we do something wrong not to be included? Thank You .
Will the museum be open during the day on the 4th of July?

Look it up on their web site or call tthem.
Is this still out the back and you have to walk round to look at it without permission? This is huge as I’m ticking off the last surviving V bombers and this is on my list. Done most in the U.K. now and been in a few with guided tours with ex Vulcan pilot

I hear they have moved it for work? So this will be on display again at some point?
Is the museum open? It looks abandoned...all grown up with weeds and the paint is falling off of the aircraft which are on display in the yard. No one answers the phone during business hours.
Any insight or contact info would be greatly appreciat

The museum is open. The inside aircraft are well maintained and look amazing. I do believe the business hours noted online are the hours the are using.
As long as you need. I would say minimum 3 hours. If you've never been there much longer. It really depends on how much you like looking at aircraft and reading about them.
Our family will be flying with Southwest however my son-in-law is claustrophobic and has never flown before, he would like to see the inside of a plane to verify he can handle it, do you have a plane comparable in size?
Adults$12. Kids$6. Stop at Mahoney state park next door to get tickets for$10 adult and$5 kids. Here is our video from our visit https://youtu.be/3NuOVwRKtNU
