We had a great tour of the house! The ladies were very knowledgeable. I brought my parents from the Netherlands and they specifically looked up some stuff to tell us how some things in the house were tied to the Netherlands.

It is a well preserved house, it has recently undergone works to improve the main entrance. An unmissable destination if you are visiting the mansions in the area related to the history of the United States and the Revolutionary War. It has very curious objects like the armchair that was also a toilet. The views of the river are very good.

We received a letter from the Duke of Buccleuch asking us why we were named Buccleuch. Colonel Joseph Warren Scott bought the house and named it for his homeland.
Buccleuch mansion is named after a Scottish estate. See the Duke of Buccleuch and Buccleuch Castle.
