The security officer is ignorant, disrespectful and rude. Said he makes the rules, cause he wears the badge. I thought the government and the office supervisor made the rules?

what is the local branch phone number?
I need a appointment end of this week for me and my husband at ss in port orange office please contact me ty
How can I get an appt to change a direct deposit bank acct number?
Usually you can just call in depending on your situation however if you are receiving SSI benefits through Social Security Disability you can send in like your current lease all that information they want signed from the new person you are residing with are renting from and mail it ahead of time so they will update it but when you are on SSI you cannot update it on the telephone you must be in person or do what I said specifically by mail I have learned the hard way even though they tell you one thing on the phone it doesn't work that way everyone's case is different so if you do call them make sure they open up your file specifically and don't give you basic information because everyone's case is different
If you can't get through on the local number that ends with 8089 off hand that's what I remember call the hotline that ends with 1/2 1/3 or whatever and if you still cannot get through without the extensive wait times just go in there to the office during there weird hours that they have now and sign in at the kiosk and tell them you have been trying to schedule an appointment for several days weeks excetera and they will help you that day my advice is to go at least an hour before the door opens or you will be there all day long when I went last month for another situation and I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone at both places same situation I was there six and a half hours
I am in this situation where I am the ex wife and I thought the same that 1st wife gets it and that's not true SS told me that if he stays married at least a year to new wife when he passes she can file as well and get up to half his benefits
Can I order a new SS card over the phone?
Need to change address. Can I do over phone ?
It is open!! It just won't let anyone WALK IN!! You must call.. then you can make an appointment!! If they decide its worth it.. they will let you come in.. if not.. its only on call!!
You will need to reach them by phone
From 9am to 3pm
No you have to go in to the office
There are different scenarios for that question. First, were you still married when he passed? If not, then your marriage would have to be 10 years or more. If you are over the age of 50, not remarried and disabled, you can file a disability claim under him. Or be age 60, not remarried before age 60 and making under $17,040.00 per year gross, then yes you can collect widow's benefits. If you remarried before age 60 and are now divorced you can collect as well.
Birth certificate and/or school records
When I went last week, I saw 4 people there working including the guard, it was in a rare unbusy spot of the day near lunch, but after I had finished it filled up to 9 customers plus one outside. If you can't get through by the phone icon on the page here on google you may have to go in person.
You can try calling with the phone icon, or take the letter and go early, there outside the door there may be the same number to call and make an appointment or a different one. I would guess you would have to wait most probably for your 65th birthday then they will tell you it can go into effect, but you will have to go in and say hey I am 65 etc.
Yeah if you arrive there little after 10 or 11 there will be line so better early
Outside the office there is a sign with a phone number for appointments. I suspect one might bypass that sign if one came early, when I was last there there was a 16 person line. I don't think all had appointments. 😕
Go to the one in Port orange.
No, sorry.
Nope they are finally open I was just in yesterday :)
You can apply for a new card online.
They are not open, have to call for appointment.
No offices are open right now
You can try going online and making an account but it might not work so your other options would be by mail. You have to print out the application and mail it in, it should take about 2 weeks
The office is closed but I think you can still contact them on line or by phone
Yes, I have in the past.
Call first to make an appointment
You either can call them or go to building and go to the kiosk and you can pretty much see someone that day. I will let you know that it willbe a bit of a wait. They open at 9am but if you want to early! And if you have problems they do have a security guard there who can help you.
NO you have to go to the office on s. palmetto
You have to call the Port Orange office today. It may not be guaranteed you will be able to get an appointment on Monday, but it's worth a try call them before 4:00 today
No, you have to contact them by phone or on their website, you can do a change of address.
I'm not sure but it's better to call them even to set up an appointment than wait at the office for most of the day.
I've been there twice not long ago and I don't remember seeing one inside or out sister.
I wouldn't think so Mary, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe you could call the office in Port orange and ask or mail them in. BIM thinking if you goblin the office they will make you wait to see someone. Best of luck.
Yes, they are open Monday through Friday.
Yes they're across from the guard !
Yes, but you have to call or go in to request it.
No
No they never call you.. Just by mail.
Marriage certificate
As far as I know, you do not need an appointment, but you if you go to an office, you will have to sign in and wait until your number is called
You can go online or to a local SSA office n fillout an application for a replacement card
Apply for and was expecting it 4 days ago and i didn't receive it
Call them and they should be able to tell you
You should be able to change your address online, after completing login information.
Social Security has nothing to do with low income housing.
You can just go in. Grab a ticket and wait until your number is called.
To be succinct, you must go in and talk to someone. They will have you taken care of in as little as five minutes. Plus the staff is extremely friendly.
I just went thru this..like paul said, take a marriage license and death certificate. Also, if you can make an appt.
Can i get sscard online
It is best to go directly there as they a a kiosk that you can set up an official appointment that protects what your endeavoring to do.
Befor
Yes
Sorry, I don't work for them...💛
A valid drivers license, state I'd card. Or passport.
They don't pick up their phone. So you have to go down there take a number and sit sometimes for hours till you're called. Then if they need you to come back then they will make you an appointment right there.
Is this the only document needed?
If your applying for disability benefits or retirement benefits then yes I would recommend an appointment. If you need a social security card, they do not accept appointments for that.
How do I make a appointment
Yes
If you sign up for a myssa account, yes! Go to ssa.gov
SSI is a needs based program for children with a disability who have never worked or an adult who has either never worked or worked long enough to be insured for regular Disability. The whole family income counts, so the higher the income, the less your SSI payments will be. You also get Medicaid with SSI.
