Wonderful place! Huge selection, great prices (hardbacks $5) & an all around cool environment. Plenty of spaces to do school or paperwork or just chill & read a good book. The owner is a wonderful guy & pets are allowed! Can not recommend this place enough. Best in Burlington!!!!

Persnickety has been my favorite place to go in Burlington since moving here about a year ago. The staff is very welcoming and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. They have endless options no matter what your genre of choice and they’re always willing to help when needed. I found this place while just exploring downtown area of Burlington. It's much better than some of the ones I was firmly attached to in the midwest where I originate. Fully loaded with an eclectic, diverse array of old & new reads. They also curate their collection like an actual library might, making it easier to find what you're searching for. One thing I would suggest is a bit more updated: technology (AI, coding, video game design, ect), design, art, interior design related reads. Staff are very friendly and helpful here. Towards the back upstairs/downstairs they have seating areas if you want to spend a bit of time reading. All they need to do is serve up☕(subtle hint). Their mission is to promote literacy for felons and also giving them a 2nd chance in life, which I think is very needed nowadays.
