Six or Seven years have passed since I was part of this program and the seeds planted have blossomed and bloomed, while producing fruits year round in my life. It can be said that addiction was my affliction but what I learned through the meetings and morning meditations was that affliction was an affliction of mind with drugs being a byproduct of a much larger and far more dangerous situation than I could have imagined at that time. I feel as though a key was fashioned in the Gateway Program. A key which I could use to set myself free. And to this very day, I enjoy the blessings and rewards which line this very path of complete freedom.To all the counselors, drivers, Darryl Chandler and Rob. Thank you. You will never be forgotten.

A case of the blind trying to lead the blind. Former drug or alcoholics who mistakenly think they are counselors. These people feel they are entitled to a share of any compensation you win from Social Security or VA compensation, problem with that is they don't feel they should help you get it. A case of the Little Red Hen fable, nor do these people provide any real or helpful counseling. The good things Gateway does provide is housing, food, and transportation to and from the VA.

They only care about the money. They have a revolving door. They do not prepare u or help u once u complete the program. They send u back on the street with nothing , not even a roof over your head.
