I have used Eastern for more than 30+ years but service has gone downhill over the last year or so. I just tried to reserve a car online and via the app but I have not received any confirmation text or email. What’s the point of having this system if I just have to call to confirm? In March, I booked an early morning airport drop off for my family. I received notification that the driver was en route but when I tracked him, he wasn’t moving at all. Finally, I called the driver and he said he never got the assignment from the dispatcher. So disorganized! I used to recommend Eastern to all my friends, but never again!

Booked an early ride to JFK from Park Slope. Car was really comfortable, driver was a couple minutes late, but no big deal. He was also friendly and courteous and the trip was quick and efficient. The price was also very reasonable. I will definitely use this service next time I am in NYC

While many drivers are fine, I’ve encountered so many sketchy ones over the past 6 years of using Eastern. They’ll try to overcharge you, try to charge for wait fees even when the company advertises flat airport pickup rates with no additional fees, and often they’ll claim that they can’t take credit card or that their reader is not working. Last night I was told my total was $110 for a ride that should have been $88 according to the website and the personal I spoke to on the phone when booking the car. We had to get Eastern on the line to work it out and ended up agreeing on $98 which meant I just wouldn’t be tipping the driver since I normally would have tipped $10 on a $88 ride. Driver then proceeded to charge $107 to my credit card without my approval and claimed the extra was for tax which is totally bogus. Now I’m getting my credit card involved because Eastern is giving me the run around. I will never use this service again, it is total trash now…better off using an overpriced app-based ride for the convenience and less unpredictable scenarios.

They were on time. However when I booked the pickup 2 days in advance the charge was $34.00 including my dog. When I arrived at my destination they charged me $45.00. Make sure you call them prior to pickup to confirm the price.

You have to ask for a pet-friendly car, which they do have.
Most cars use square or they can call in to base to run your card. Cash does have it's benefit of being $5 less than using your card

When you order a car you order it for when you need it...if you end up needing more time and they have to wait, why would you dispute a fee...you are keeping them from earning money...the driver's earning potential for the day is based solely on the amount of time they are booked... therefore time is money and that time is paid for by the rider...you being late means you bought the time so pay for it...dont be late if you can not deal with consequences...having this question asked by anyone shows a self involved selfish personality type that should be addressed rather than going through life believing that your time is the only time that matters...it will also help you to not ask questions that you should already know the answers to...always think "do to others as you would have done to your self"...

Depending on the area of Queens.. usually less than 30 dollars. But call the customer service desk and they will definitely provide you with a correct amount before you decide to order the taxi
